Our approach

Website structure and conversion planning

A website has to help someone recognise the offer, judge whether it fits and decide what to do. We map those decisions before choosing layouts or animation. That makes content, navigation and calls to action part of the design work from the beginning.

We discuss your audience, the questions sales teams receive and the evidence available to support the offer. A distinctive visual system should make that information easier to use across mobile and desktop, rather than hide it behind effects.

Build a reusable website design system

Shared typography, spacing, colour and components give the website consistency. Individual pages can use different section combinations when the content needs them. This lets the brand evolve centrally while preserving useful variation between services, projects and editorial pages.

Test the complete website journey

A page review should include navigation, forms, validation, confirmation and what happens to an enquiry. We also agree accessibility, search and performance checks as part of acceptance. A visually complete homepage is not a finished website if the important actions still fail.

Discuss your target markets

Bird works from London and Essex with businesses serving nearby customers, the wider UK and international markets. We agree which of those audiences matters to this brief before recommending pages or campaigns. Contact the team to confirm meeting arrangements and bring the website, business priorities and any relevant constraints to the discussion.

Frequently asked questions

What is included in a website design project?

The agreed scope can cover discovery, structure, page designs, content planning, development and launch checks. We identify the required pages and functions before estimating the work. Copywriting, photography, integrations and ongoing care are specified separately where relevant.

Which platform will you recommend?

We choose around publishing needs, functionality, maintenance and the people who will operate the site. Static frameworks such as Astro suit many content-led websites, while WordPress or an ecommerce platform may suit other requirements. The recommendation should explain the tradeoffs for your project.

Can we edit the website ourselves after launch?

That depends on the agreed publishing approach. Options include a content editor or a structured Git-based workflow for a static site. We define who needs to edit what and include the appropriate handover and training.

How do you plan a website for enquiries?

We identify the customer’s questions, relevant evidence and the action that should follow. Navigation, service information and forms are tested as one journey. A visual design should make that journey understandable across screen sizes.

How much will a new website cost?

The estimate depends on page types, content, design requirements and functionality. A clear brief allows us to separate essential work from optional additions. The proposal states deliverables, responsibilities and what would change the price.

Will the new website be tested on mobile?

Responsive behaviour and representative mobile journeys form part of the agreed testing. We check readable content, navigation, forms and relevant interactions. Performance and accessibility checks should use the actual implementation, not just a design file.
